ST/09 · SUPPLY LOT

Steel packages

Multi-building or multi-area lots under one material, inspection, coating, packing and document-control plan.

Technical basis

SOEX does not publish a single generic tonnage limit because capacity depends on section size, piece weight, fabrication complexity, coating, shipping dimensions and schedule. A project-specific capability matrix is issued against each RFQ.

Engineering inputs

Design drawings or model, load data, connection philosophy, design life, steel grades, execution class, tolerances, fireproofing and coating requirements, transport envelope and erection sequence.

Standards

Project-selected requirements such as EN 1090, EN 1993, ISO 3834, AWS D1.1, AISC, GOST/SP and client specifications. Applicability and certification are confirmed before award.

Detailing

Fabrication drawings, connection details, NC data, material take-off, bolt lists, erection marks, model coordination and controlled drawing revisions.

Materials

Carbon and low-alloy structural grades to the project specification, supported by mill certificates, receiving inspection and heat-number traceability.

Capacity statement

For each enquiry: available monthly throughput, maximum member dimensions and weight, shop bay and crane limitations, blasting/painting capacity, trial-assembly area and committed production window.

Manufacturing controls

Fabrication proceeds under an approved quality plan with defined inspection points and acceptance criteria.

QC/01

Material traceability

Certificate review, heat-number transfer, controlled cutting, material identification and reconciliation against the bill of materials.

QC/02

Welding

Approved WPS/PQR, qualified personnel, consumable storage, preheat/interpass control, weld maps and repair control.

QC/03

NDT

Visual inspection plus MT, PT, UT or RT at the extent and acceptance standard specified by design and execution class.

QC/04

Dimensional control

Member geometry, hole patterns, camber, fit-up, interface dimensions, survey reports and trial assembly where required.

QC/05

Bolting

Bolt certification, assembly controls, preloaded-bolt procedures, tension verification and lot traceability as applicable.

QC/06

Coating

Surface preparation, climatic checks, abrasive control, DFT measurement, holiday testing when specified and repair records.

Surface protection

Protection systems are selected for the corrosivity category, design life, operating temperature, fire scenario and site repair strategy.

SP/01

Protective coating

Abrasive blasting and multi-coat systems with stripe coating, DFT control and traceable paint batches.

SP/02

Galvanizing

Hot-dip galvanizing for suitable secondary steel, grating, handrails and supports, including vent/drain detailing.

SP/03

Fire protection

Interfaces for cementitious or intumescent passive fire protection, including preparation and hold-point coordination.

Typical coating records: material and product data, batch certificates, blast profile, surface cleanliness, ambient conditions, wet/dry film thickness, adhesion or holiday testing when specified, and repair/close-out reports.

Package execution

Production and delivery are structured around the site need date and erection logic.

01

Scope review

Tonnage, piece list, standards and schedule.

02

Shop match

Capacity, equipment, certification and load.

03

Detailing

Drawings, model, connections and interfaces.

04

Fabrication

Traceability, welding, NDT and coating.

05

Delivery

Marking, packing, dossier and sequence.

RFQ checklist: drawings/model, bill of materials, steel grades, estimated tonnage, standards and execution class, coating/fireproofing specification, NDT extent, maximum shipping dimensions, delivery location, erection sequence and required-on-site dates.

Define the steel package. We will qualify the route.

SOEX will map fabrication capacity, certification, inspection and delivery constraints before proposal.
